What happens when you don't sleep

Sleep is the fundamental anabolic process common to all life forms, plant and animal. In animals, the sleeping state is characterized by an absolute minimal degree of consciousness and decreased responsiveness to the surrounding world.

Now that we’ve covered what sleep is, here is why it’s important. When a person doesn’t get enough sleep, he or she begins to lose their cognitive and physical abilities. The body does not get the needed time to build proteins for energy and so physical labor is hindered greatly.

People who go with too little sleep for too long a time begin to get easily confused. I’m sure many of you have pulled an all-nighter at one time or another, studying before a test or a new years party, the next day (or however late you stay up) seems sort of muddled and overly complex anyone who has ever spoken with some on sleep deprivation can probably recall the tired person to have become confused easily or slow answering. While there is no evidence to suggest that a only a few hours of sleep a night occasionally isn’t necessarily harmful, there is no real evidence against it. Besides; you’ll just feel tired. While there have been cases of people staying awake for more then a week at a time, the person is usually pretty out of it by the end.
